Dairy Creek-Eagle Rock Hike
Details
Join us for one of the loveliest little woodland hikes in SLO, the Dairy Creek-Eagle Rock loop. **This is not a flat walk, please read the description below. **
We'll start near the botanical garden and loop through a beautiful oak woodland.
Depending on the trail conditions, we may take a little trail offshoot up to Eagle Rock before completing the woodland loop.
If time allows, we'll also stop to see a pretty little waterfall, which is flowing nicely after the rains.
Wear long pants, as the vegetation (including poison oak) can grow very close to the narrow trail.
This is a moderate hike in hilly terrain; there are a few moderately-steep sections.
When: 5:30 (we will start walking promptly at 5:35)
Where to Park: Park in the newly paved lot across from the brown Botanical Garden building
Distance: 2.4 miles (total)
Elevation Gain: Around 450 feet with the side jaunt to Eagle Rock
Terrain: Hilly oak woodland and fire road
Walk Type: Lollipop loop
Dogs: Please leave your fur babies at home for this one, as some people may be allergic
Bathrooms: There is a bathroom not far from our starting point where we can stop before/after the hike if needed.
