Let's challenge ourselves with two peaks in one evening: Islay Hill and Righetti Hill. I did a trial run recently and it was super fun!

Join us for one hike only or both. We will have views of Righetti Hill in the distance on the Islay Hill hike and views of Islay Hill in the distance on the Righetti hike!

Some of us may decide to grab a bite and a drink afterward, maybe at Oak and Otter or SLO Brew.

  • Islay Hill Hike: Meet at 5:30pm at the end of the cul de sac near 1356 Sweet Bay Lane, San Luis Obispo
  • Righetti Hill Hike: Meet at 6:45pm at 4000 Hillside Drive, San Luis Obispo

It's only 3.3 miles total for both hikes combined, but they are both steep, strenuous hikes. The combined total elevation gain for both hikes is 875 feet. For context, the amount of climbing on the Islay Hill hike is equivalent to climbing 55 flights of stairs over the course of 1 mile. On the Righetti hike, it's the equivalent of climbing 32 flights of stairs in just over a half mile. Please make sure you are up for the challenge.

We will start the Islay Hill hike just after 5:30pm and it should take around an hour. Then we will caravan over to the Righetti Hill trailhead about a mile away and start that hike around 6:45pm.
