16-19 March | Winter High Tatras Hiking and Treetop Path - GUARANTEED

Come to Slovakia in winter, to enjoy the winter silence (only the squeaking snow under your feet) and the snowy mountain landscapes. Every morning you will set off on a winter walk to explore the High Tatras for 2 and 1/2 days. High Tatras is the smallest mountain range with an alpine character in the world, but even though still pretty fascinating. You will be walking in the mountains covered with fresh snow, enjoying tasty food and hot herbal tea in the mountain huts and geothermal pools after one of the hikes.

The hikes that we are going to walk on this trip will be of easy and medium difficulty. Everyday we will walk for approx. 10-16 km with the total vertical ascent of 400-700 metres. The longest hike will be 16 km long with 700m of vertical ascent in the High Tatras mountains. You don't need any previous experience with hiking, just to be in a good shape to be able to walk the hikes every day.

PROGRAM AND ITINERARY

DAY 1 - Saturday

16:00 Meeting at John Paul II International Airport Kraków-Balice (KRK) in Poland
3 hrs transfer to your accommodation

DAY 2 - 3 Sunday-Monday

7:30 Breakfast
8:30 Leaving the hotel for daily hikes. You will walk to remote and cozy mountain huts for delicious lunch and drinks, relax in thermal pools.
17-18:00 Coming back to the hotel

DAY 4 - Tuesday

8:00 Breakfast
9:00 Leaving for the visit of the Treetop path, together with a short hike, before going back to the airport.
15:00 Arrival to the airport.

ACCOMMODATION

You will be staying in a small guesthouse Penzion Lomnicky of 3* standard, situated in the quite village of Stara Lesna, situated right below the mountains.

All rooms are equipped with WiFi, towels and hair-dryer.

FOOD

MEETING PLACE AND GETTING THERE

There are flights from Brussels to Krakow. You will need to stay in Krakow 1 night before the trip and 1 night after. But that is a plus, as Krakow is a beautiful city, listed in UNESCO and worth seeing.

ARRIVAL – We will meet at the Krakow airport at 16:00. Please arrive before this time.

DEPARTURE - Arrange your travels back after 17:00. We will get back to Krakow Airport at around 15:00.
