About us
How many times have you seen hiking clubs where if you're not a super fast uber- hiker they don't want you going on any harder hikes or scrambles. They believe that if you are slower you should only stick to the easier stuff. Boring!! This is a club for those of us who still wish to do all styles of hiking from easy walks to scrambles. We just don't feel the need to make a "mad dash" for a summit or to finish a trail in record time. Hiking and being in the outdoors is meant to be an enjoyable activity for all of us. Slow and Steady is about hiking at a consistent, manageable pace -- which may vary from slow to moderate depending on the organizer -- and finishing the hike or scrambling to a summit together. If this is more your style and wish to meet like minded hikers please consider joining our club. We will be doing all kinds of summer and winter activities such as day hikes, scrambles, backpacking trips, XC skiing, snowshoe trips, downhill ski trips and any other outdoor related activity. Remember slow and steady wins the race. Lets all enjoy the great outdoors together. Just in a more relaxed pace.

Winter Fun Weekend in Lake Louise
HI Lake Louise Alpine Centre, 203 Village Rd, Lake Louise, AB, CALet's celebrate winter and Slow and Steady and of course each other in beautiful Lake Louise.
We've done these in the past and had so much fun. Booking a room or dorm bed is your responsibility.
We have stayed at the Lake Louise Alpine Center ( Hostel) in the past but you can book anywhere you wish.https://hihostels.ca/en/destinations/alberta/hi-lake-louise
Arrive anytime Friday and settle into your room. Join us in the kitchen for dinner or at Bill Peyto's restaurant in the hostel. Afterward, we can socialize around the fire pit or in the upstairs lounge area. Also, we can plan our Saturday activities..
On Saturday we can go snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or downhill skiing/snowboarding. Up to you. We'll organize the fun.
Saturday evening we will have a big potluck dinner in one of the two kitchen areas. Remember, we do have to share with other hostel guests so be nice.
Saturday evening we will again have time for socializing but let's be respectful and lights out by 11 pm.Sunday, we'll have more activities for those who are able. In the past, we've done some easier stuff on Sunday. Go ice skating and look at the ice sculptures at the lake. Or an easier snowshoe? Up to you. One year we even went tubing at Norquay. It was lots of fun. Do they still do this?

Apparently so.
There are plenty more options and of course, we can finish the weekend with a pub stop in Banff or Canmore on the way home. For those who wish to.
This is a great way for us to see each other again and have fun together.
You must book your own accommodation. I'm not doing that.38 attendees
