Bike Ride : The Road to Nepal (moderate)

Details

🌲 Trip Description
The Road to Nepal takes us through beautiful rolling farmland. Over the course of 50 kilometres, we’ll tackle challenging hill climbs and enjoy thrilling descents, gaining approximately 400 metres in elevation.
Roads are reasonably quiet and most have a decent-sized shoulder. It’s very pretty – with pastoral scenes, mountain views and Calgary city views along the way.
My co-organizer, Sergey, rode the Road to Nepal on
friday to ensure our bike ride will be safe and enjoyable. He also checked out the best route and parking options. I truly appreciate his effort and dedication in doing this for all of us.
we're planning a casual tailgate party after finishing our ride. It would be great if you could bring something to share with your fellow bike riders!
🌲Parking Advisory
Please take a moment to look at the photos I’ve posted.
I wasn’t able to capture the exact meeting spot, but the last two pictures should help you find it. After passing Tanbridge Academy, look to your left (if you're coming from the north side) and you'll see a gravel parking area (marked with a red dot on the photo) —that's where we’ll meet.
🌲 This trip is weather dependent, please check before heading out just in case of last minute cancellation.
🌲Please be aware that our finishing time is not guaranteed. If you have a prior commitment, I can’t promise we’ll be done in time.
🌲 Distance: about 50km round trip
🌲 Elevation gain: about 400meters.
🌲 Time: 6 hours, depending on group size, speed, and road conditions.
🌲 Group Size: 5-7 (No dogs, children or guests)

Suggestions,
1. We will cycle as a group within visibility of each other at all times.
2. In case of any sudden stops, the rider in front of you may brake unexpectedly. Please maintain a safe distance from both the rider in front and behind you.
3. Since we’re sharing the road with cars, everyone must ride in a single file line for safety.

If you wish to carpool, it is at your discretion. You can use the Comments section (below) or Direct Messaging to arrange a ride.
