Wilderness Area Backpack Overnight T3 - Quick Pace

Details
Summer Solstice Special.
Read details before deciding. This will be speedy. Prepping for trips later in the season.
Plan C now, maybe even D. Wet Weather Training.
2 days 1 night.
Unmaintained campsite. Note there are no facilities.
We'll be de-camping right after an early breakfast and heading to a nearby town for lunch. You're on your own if you like to sleep in.
Expect any kind of weather conditions including close to 0c overnight and snow.
You'll need to help in processing firewood and a backpacking saw is needed. There will be no shared equipment. You're expected to be self sufficient. If you've never backcountry random camped before, good opportunity to try things out. Bring a lightweight pack. No more than 30lbs. These days I'm usually well under 20lbs for a pack, I like to travel light and fast.
This is a fun anything goes trip. If you are uptight about stuff, this is not be the trip for you. If you can't do all activities, including the apres-social, this event is also not for you. Sorry no dogs. If needed we'll carpool from town in the south if needed. Gas Fee contribution: $20.00 per person from Calgary. Indicate if you can drive or be a passenger. I'll definitely be driving. Note there is no cell reception where we are going.
Distance: about 5-7Km round trip. Depends on plan option.
Elevation Gain: 200-500meters round trip approx.
Event Pace: approx 2-4 hr hike in (see bit about lightweight gear)
Meal planning: 1 dinner and 1 breakfast. Lunch on trail inbound. We'll be stopping over at a nearby town on the way back for lunch.
Note withdrawal cut off time. Will need a minimum of three persons for this to be a go else I might as well solo it. RSVP only if you are firm.
Any questions let me know.
Required equipment:
- Small Tarp
- Bear Spray
- Usual Backpacking Equipment Not going to need everything on this list but its a good place to start. Keep your pack well under 30lbs. The lighter the better. With my ultralight pack setup, I'll be having a day hike compared to traditional backpack setups.
- Line & waterproof bag for a hang.
- Trowel for cat holes (or find a really good stick)
