bike ride : from Highway 1A to Castle Junction

🌲 Highway 1A is closed to traffic until June 25th. Let's ride a bicycle leisurely and enjoy the scenery without worrying about cars. We will meet at The Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre
Bikes will be unloaded, waivers will be signed and all participants will ride in group. Our cycling trip, which starts from the parking lot , will continue to Castle Junction Gas Station. Of course, we’ll take breaks along the way. Then, we’ll have lunch at Castle Junction.
Distance: apprpximately 65 km round trip.
Park Pass: Ensure you have a valid Parks Canada pass for cycling within Banff National Park.
Wildlife Awareness: The area is home to various wildlife species. Carry bear spray and remain vigilant, especially during early morning or late evening rides.
Duration: The ending time is only an estimate. Please consider this if you have other commitments in the evening.
Elevation: about 300-350m
Physical Difficulty: Intermediate
Event Pace: Will stop to take breaks when needed.
🌲 MANDATORY ITEMS:
- Smile
- Bear spray in an accessible position, on the handlebar.
- Water spiked with hydralite /eqv tablets
- WHISTLE
- Must remain in visual contact
- Bikes: road bike, or hybrid, also MTB or electric bikes
- Appropriate layers for current season
- First aid kit
- Biking Kit (Tools, extra tube, pump ..)
- Helmets are mandatory, no exceptions

A Waiting list has been created. You must meet all of the prerequisites, and answer all of the RSVP questions, in order to be moved to the Going list. Attendance is at the discretion of the organizer Sunny, and is not on a first-come-first-served basis.
Please remove yourself from the event if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness on or immediately prior to the event date.

🌲 WAIVER: You must sign our club waiver before you are allowed to go on this trip and you shall arrive prepared with an emergency name and phone number to be recorded on the waiver. Organizer will have a group waiver for you to sign at the trailhead. You are required to read the Slow and Steady Hiker Club Waiver:
