Cox Hill T4 - Not so slow Pace

Canada Day stroll. Not so slow pace aka faster than usual. Get to the top, have a light lunch. Admire views, come back down.
This hike follows a challenging trail leading from the Dawson day-use area to the top of Cox Hill. Route follows trails in the trees most of the time before getting out of the treeline for some nice views. Not technical but it can be quite the huffer if you're out of shape, it's somewhere around 240 floors equivalent. Very strong beginners are ok.
Not a leisurely walk. Piece of cake if you are a Prairie Mountain regular.
Bring microspikes or similar, in case. Trail can be muddy so will need footwear with lugs. No tennis shoes. Trail runners/Luna wearers are welcome. No jeans/denim clothing.
Event may change due to weather, like if a crazy thunderstorm is expected and roads are dicey, then it's plan B.

Note there is no cell service at the trailhead. Some gravel road driving to get there.

Distance: 13 Km round trip.
Elevation Gain: 780 meters.
Event Pace: 5-6 hr

Required Gear:
- Bear Spray.
- Lightweight hiking gear.
- Microspikes (standby)
- Water and snacks.
- Adequate layers.
- Recommend poles.

You'll need a Kananaskis Pass if you are driving.

This is a fun anything goes trip. If you are uptight about stuff, might not be the trip for you.
