Description
A stunningly beautiful hike, on an unremarkable trail with a few fallen trees, unsuspecting grizzlies, perched mountain goats but the views are astounding!!!!
The view across the lake is amazing with the massive Mount Inglismaldie stealing the limelight; the first kilometer or so will bring us to the foot bridge over the Cascade River at the scenic Stuart Canyon. The trail is paved up to this point beyond which there is some elevation gain. Moving forward the trail traverses across a high slope and through a forest fire burn, before descending back to the lake level. It stays that way for the most part of the trip till LM 8 point at the 8km mark . We shall have our lunch here and then walk to the Alymer Point Lookout; after approx 2.5 km , we reach the lookout and Alymar pass junction, where we turn right to head to our destination;sadly, only the concrete footings of the lookout exist. The S shaped Minnewanka Lake marvels your eye sight.

Car pooling: I shall travel from Cochrane, please use Messaging with prospective participants should you want to car pool.

Suggested gear: sunglasses.
