Bragg Creek 3 P's Moderate Pace. Strong Beginners are Welcome!

Details

Meeting Place:
Parking lot at Elbow Falls.

We will do the loop of Powderface creek - Prairie Link to Prairie Creek Trail.

Trail: This hike will combine parts of 3 trails to make a nice loop. We will first hike up the easier section of the Powderface Creek trail cut over east on the Prairie Link Trail and come back down the Prairie Creek trail. The Powderface Creek trailhead starts about 500 meters west of our end point at the Prairie Creek trailhead. This trail rolls up and down for its length, never gaining much elevation, but definitely a good workout. Nice scenery. We will meet at the parking lot at Elbow Falls.

THE DETAILS:
Distance: 12 km approx.
The total elevation gain is approx. 250 meters. While this sounds flat, there is a quite a bit of climbing up and down, up and down, the side of the ridge above Prairie Creek. This trail rolls up and down small inclines the entire way, so it is a great workout.
Time on trial approx. 4-5 hours plus driving time of an hour or so each way.

PACE: Moderate. No strolling
GEAR: Hiking Poles, dress properly for the weather, snacks, water, bear spray, good sense of humor.
