Pickle Jar Lakes - T3 very SLOW

Details

PLEASE READ ALL DESCRIPTION BEFORE SIGNING UP!!!

I will take 12 hikers max. Everyone will be waitlisted. If you haven’t hiked with me previously or attended an urban walk you will not be added to the hike.

We will meet at the Lantern Creek Day Use area across the street from the picklejar lakes trailhead.

  • We will hike approx 11 km total and up to 700 m cumulative Elevation gain.

The trail starts with a fair amount of elevation gain (lovely on the way back to the cars) and then evens off as we go around the hills. The vistas are incredible. Then you drop down across a wetter area before you start climbing up through the forest again. Then up and up to the crux before we go doen because…

The 4 lakes are lower across a bit of a boulder field and strung out. We will likely take time to dip our feet or bodies into Lake #3!

There will be NO hiking ahead and speed demons are not welcome. The enjoyment of hiking is enjoying being in the moment. Kodak moments are encouraged. The leader does reserve the right to change the hike for weather or safety reasons as needed.

Car-pooling is at your own discretion. Gas share recommendation from Calgary of $20 is reasonable and should be offered to your driver. I do not arrange car-pools. Please bring a bag for your dirty boots and clean shoes for the ride home.
