Troll Falls/ Upper Falls/ Slow and Steady Anniversary Picnic

Details

Distance: 5 km return
Elevation: 100 meters +/-

Join us for a hike filled with waterfalls. We'll hike to Troll Falls and then climb above the falls to see all the Upper Falls and Marmot Falls.
The pace will be very slow and steady with lots of time for photos and relaxing. This hike is for novice/slow and beginner hikers. We will stay together as a group at the pace of the slowest person. No exceptions. Following the hike we will join the Slow and Steady Anniversary Picnic. (see below)

SUGGESTIONS OF WHAT TO BRING:
Sturdy shoes/boots (must)
Bear spray (must)
Weather appropriate clothing
Hiking poles
Water and snacks

Slow and Steady Anniversary Picnic
Don't forget to bring your goodies (weenies etc.)
Lawn chairs
Portable BBQs or camp stoves will also be nice.

CARPOOLING:
Please be considerate of your driver’s vehicle and bring a change of shoes and a large plastic bag to keep mud off car floor.
Suggested gas fee contribution is $25 per passenger.
Otherwise, meet at the Troll Falls parking lot at 1:00PM.
Kananaskis Park Permit rules apply.

WAIVER AND CODE OF CONDUCT:
The Slow and Steady waiver and Code of Conduct apply. I will have a hard copy of the waiver to sign at the meetup location. You will be asked for the name and phone number of an emergency contact. Please come prepared with this information.
You are fully aware that organizers are not professional guides and you assume all responsibility for your safety and well-being.

SLOW AND STEADY POTLUCK ANNIVERSARY PICNIC:
The plan is to have multiple organizers arrange hikes of all levels so anyone can attend. Then we will all meet for a Weenie Roast/ Picnic at the Opal Day use area on Hwy 40 from 5 pm to 8 pm to socialize together. Bring lawn chairs to sit on. Portable BBQs and camp stoves will also be nice.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BRING A POTLUCK DISH FOR ALL. JUST BRING ENOUGH FOR YOURSELF.
We did these in the past and they were so much fun. All levels of hikers get together and share stories and get to know each other or reconnect.
Andy D. will personally lead a hike, and some of our other organizers will also lead a variety of hikes. We'll get together after for the social activities.
