This challenging trek begins with a 5km hike to the Sparrowhawk Tarns followed by a scree ascent to the col and a ridge scramble to the summit. The views from the summit are supposed to be excellent.

Rock helmets are mandatory

🌲 Distance: 16 km
🌲 Elevation gain: 1500 meters
🌲 Time: 10 hours + driving
🌲 Max Group Size: 8 (No children, No Pets, No guests)
🌲 Difficulty: S6 routes (Kane's moderate, YDS 2) will likely encounter rock bands requiring use of hands. Route finding to locate the best way is often necessary. Exposure to heights can be more serious. Example: Mt Temple

🌲 There is a waitlist. If we have not hiked together before, please answer the questions regarding your hiking experience. The waitlist for this event is not first come, first serve, but based on ability to fit into the group to make the hike enjoyable for everyone.

🌲 We move at a steady pace with short breaks for delayering, relayering, photos & bio breaks..

🌲 Required gear:
- climbing helmet
- hiking boots
- water
- lunch / snacks
- hat / gloves
- technical clothing (no cotton, no jeans)
- rain coat & hood
- personal first aid kit, toilet kit

🌲 Suggested gear:
- Scrambling gloves
- bear spray
- bug spray, tick tweezers
- gaiters
- light pad to sit on
- trekking poles
- sunscreen, hat, sunglasses

🌲 WAIVER: You must sign our club waiver before you are allowed to go on this trip and you shall arrive prepared with an emergency name and phone number to be recorded on the waiver.
