Nameless Ridge Snow Shoe/Winter Hike

To be considered for this trip you should be experienced in winter conditions and provide answers to the RSVP questions. Not a trip for intermediate or beginner hikers.

🌲 Time: <7 hours + 4 hrs driving
🌲 Max Group Size: 12 (No children, No Pets, No guests)

🌲 Difficulty: OT5 Snow Shoe/ Winter Hike routes usually encounter some of everything - some bushwhacking, some steep sections (no avalanche zones), some scree, some off trail, probably no type 2 fun unless the weather impacts our trip.

🌲 Meeting Location: Petrocan & Hwy 22 @ 06:45 am. Then Stoney Nakoda Esso/Tim’s. From there convoy ~45 min to the trailhead. Approximately 12 km South of Highwood Pass. Nameless Ridge is located between Mist Mountain and Mist Ridge.

🌲Difficulty Rating: Expect a somewhat very strenuous day.We will be or might be bushwhacking up through dense forest to gain access to the South West end of Nameless Ridge. We will then proceed along the spine to the North East end and return along the west side of the ridge on the Mist Mtn/Springs trail following the low ground back to the road.

🌲 Weather: Mist Mountain Weather Forecast (3140m)

🌲Required Gear: Personal first aid & toiletry kit, snowshoes, micro spikes (khatoohla style), winter clothing layers, wind proof jacket, sturdy hiking boots good for winter alpine conditions, mitts/gloves, toque, headlamp (with spare batteries), food and hydration. Bag for dirty clothes & boots. Have to keep the drivers happy.

🌲Suggested Gear: Personal locator beacon, 30 L backpack, gaiters, hiking poles, sunglasses, camera, thermos/hot drink.

🌲What To Leave At Home: bad attitude, cotton clothing & viruses

🌲Gas Money: $20.00 per person.

🌲WAIVERS: Your consent is required for attending this event. You will be asked to provide the name and phone number of an emergency contact. I will bring the group waiver form with me to the Meetup location and the trail-head. You must sign it before you will be allowed to go on this hike.

Your Hosts are volunteers and not trained guides. All participants are responsible for assessing the current road conditions, current weather conditions, your current physical condition, current trail conditions and current avalanche conditions for the trip and you are responsible for your safety and well-being. You are fully prepared with proper gear and you're physically fit to do this hike with the group.

Members are also interested in
