Bowmont Silver Springs--Microspikes Mandatory
Details
Let's enjoy the beauty of winter and walk off some of our holiday indulgences with an urban hike in Bowmont Park, which overlooks the Bow Valley. We will be going up and down the scenic trails at a continuous, moderate pace, and do a set of stairs or two. The goal is for participants to maintain hiking fitness. This event is not for beginners.
Microspikes/crampons (not city traction devices) are mandatory. No spikes, no hike.
A waiting list has been created. You will be moved to the attending list once you have COMPLETED BOTH PARTS OF THE QUESTION ONLINE by: 1, stating your acceptance of the S&S Club risk waiver (answer 'Yes, I accept' to the RSVP question); 2, replying to direct message from organizer to provide your emergency contact's name and phone number when I DM you. Attendance is at the discretion of the organizer, NOT first come first served -- multiple 'no show' would render member ineligible for participation.
Events are weather dependent. Hike would proceed unless there are strong winds and/or heavy precipitation. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Microspikes/crampons (not city traction devices) are required. No spikes, NO HIKE! Poles will be helpful to those who usually use them. Also, be sure to check the posting the morning of the hike for updates and/or cancellation due to inclement weather.
Prior to the event, you are required to read the waiver, then agree to the Slow and Steady Hiker Club Waiver by answering this hike's RSVP questions. You must direct message Stala to provide your emergency contact info in order to get on the hike.
