***Group spread has become a big concern for me, and in order to combat it, my attendance limit going forward will be a max group of ten (or less), including me. I'm hopeful to reach people in recognizing how dangerous a practice this has become. If you have not been directly involved in an event where someone gets separated from the group, causing a major delay, you have definitely heard stories of it happening. Someone lost is the least of the concerns, which still has the potential to tax our overloaded SAR guys. It's just a matter of time before someone gets injured or, worse, loses their life, which has already happened to our beloved friend, Trina. If racing to the summit and back is the most important thing for you, please find an appropriate group to do that with, or organize trips yourself with capable, like-minded people. And please stay together as one group when you do.***

If being in our majestic mountains, soaking up all the beauty nature has to offer us, creating great memories with awesome, like minded people sounds good to you, please sign up and share your energy to getting the most out of our precious remaining life seconds!!!

Chester Lake/Elephant Rocks: Xmas day adventure

Just checking to see how many people might want to go for some mountain therapy xmas day.

Stats... something like 9k, 500m gain. Pace... I don't know. Something between not too fast and not too slow. Expect to be on trail for up to six hours. If there's a lot new beautiful snow, we might try for some off route snowshoe adventuring or definitely some tree christening 🤪.

If the forecast holds it looks like it will be a gorgeous day with a lot of new snow out there for us to play in and soak up the energy of how lucky we are to live here.

Cheers,

Michael JC
