Ings Mine (OT4 / Scramble)
⚠️ MANDATORY SAFETY NOTICE: ROCK FALL HAZARD
Rock fall is a hazard at the cave entrance and inside. I strongly recommend bringing a rock helmet, bike helmet, or any other protective headgear. People have died here due to falling rocks; protect your head for the entrance and cave interior. Having led this hike over 10 times, I previously made helmets mandatory—please do not overlook this risk.

🏔️ THE ADVENTURE
A true off-trail adventure involving cave exploration and technical hiking. The route includes approximately 3–4 scrambling steps on the ascent.
Stats: ~14 km | 400 m gain | 6–7 hours (plus driving time).
The Vibe: Team-oriented, slow pace. No "trail runners" or aggressive pacers.
Gear Handling: You must be able to securely strap snowshoes to your pack for the first 6 km.
❄️ GEAR & LOGISTICS
Required: Microspikes, Headlamp (essential for the cave), technical layers (strictly no cotton or jeans).
Recommended: Gaiters, poles, and a helmet.
Logistics: 8:10 AM start. $15 carpool contribution. Kananaskis Pass required for all vehicles.
📝 RSVP & SCREENING
You must answer all questions to be considered. Priority is given to hikers who have joined me before and those with a proven record of teamwork and reliability.
Disclaimer: Hosts are volunteers, not guides. You are solely responsible for your safety, gear, and assessment of avalanche and weather risks.
