Bike Ride : Rotary Greenway NE(date changed)

🌲 Trip details
This week's cycling trip begins at the Monterey Park (2220 68 St NE, Calgary).
We will ride south along the Rotary/Mattamy Greenway all the way to Peigan Trail. From there, we'll loop back and head over to Elliston Park, which serves as the official boundary point where the Northeast section of the Greenway ends and the Southeast section begins. Interestingly, this park has hosted Calgary's annual summer fireworks festival, GlobalFest, since 2003, though the event is making a big move to Spruce Meadows starting this year.
Either way, Elliston Park will be our designated lunch spot before we hop back on our bikes and ride all the way back to our starting point.
Difficulty: Easy-Moderate
Distance: approx 25km round trip
Elevation Gain: minimal
Meeting place: Monterey Park (2220 68 St NE, Calgary) near to Scotiabank
Arrive for 9:15am offload bike and be ready. we will depart by 9:30 am
Event Pace: Will stop to take breaks when needed.

🌲Suggestions

• We will cycle as a group, staying within sight of one another at all times.
• In case of a sudden stop, the person in front of you may brake unexpectedly, Please keep a safe distance from both the rider in front and behind you. And if you need to stop, please stop on the shoulder side to let other people can go without being distracted.

🌲 MANDATORY ITEMS:

1. Smile
2. Bear spray in an accessible position, on the handlebar.
3. Water spiked with hydralite /eqv tablets
4. WHISTLE
5. Must remain in visual contact
6. Bikes: road bike, or hybrid, also MTB or electric bikes
7. Appropriate layers for current season
8. First aid kit
9. Biking Kit (Tools, extra tube, pump ..)
10. Helmets are mandatory, no exceptions

A Waiting list has been created. You must meet all of the prerequisites, and answer all of the RSVP questions, in order to be moved to the Going list. Attendance is at the discretion of the organizer, and is not on a first-come-first-served basis.
🌲 Participation Policy: Attendance on this trip is strictly contingent upon agreeing to our club waiver. Furthermore, your registration will not be complete until you have answered the questionnaire provided by the organizer(s) during the sign-up process.
