Bertha Lake, Waterton NP
Details
Total Distance: 10.2km
Elevation Gain: 460m
A nice hike up to a beautiful mountain lake. Not much snow left at
the lake so the wildflowers should be coming out.
Most of the trail has a moderate incline but there is a short
steeper section (21 switchbacks).
Once arriving at the lake, there would be an opportunity to
continue to the far end of the lake which would add about 5km to
the day. Alternatively, we could head back to the trailhead and
maybe do Bear's Hump which would add about 5km total and
about 175m gain to the day. Either of these options would be a group
decision made once at the lake.
There would also be an option to eat dinner either in
Waterton or somewhere on the drive back. Regardless, this will
likely be a full day so please do not be in a rush to get back to
town,
This trip is dependent on a great weather forecast. In the
event of a less favourable forecast, this event may be moved or
cancelled.
This trail has steep sections and is best suited to fit hikers
