Fall/Winter event. Random site camping. This is old school style camping, like the old fashioned way before dyneema came along. Relive the 20s to the 70s. Doing old fashioned campfire cooking. Bring a backpacking saw (or a chainsaw, note we're carrying everything in) for firewood processing. Have a nice fire. Bring food and utensils for cooking over a fire. k. Expect any weather conditions including below zero cold and snow. Not a leisurely event.

All weather event, unless its dumping heavily. No facilities. Sign up only if you are firm. Preferably you should have experience random camping in Canadian Rockies. Limited spots. You'll need to do a bear bag hang or bring a canister.

It will be about 1 to 2 hrs drive south of the city and you'll need a K country pass. We'll be de-camping just after a light breakfast and heading to to a nearby village for snacks after. If you can't do all activities please don't sign up. No cell reception where we are going.

Expect cold conditions, below zero overnight and possible/likely snow on the ground. There will be no shared equipment. You're expected to be self sufficient. Learn to use your own gear.

Distance: Approx 4-8 Km round trip.
Elevation Gain: 100-200 meters round trip.
Event Pace: 2-4 hr about hike in

Meal planning: 1 dinner and 1 breakfast. We'll be stopping over at a nearby town on the way back for a late lunch.

Note withdrawal cut off time. Will need a minimum of three persons for this to be a go else I might as well solo it. RSVP only if you are firm.

The event host reserves the right to not allow participants on the event if they are not fit enough or are not a fit for the group.

Any questions let me know.
