This hike is connected to the Slow & Steady Anniversary Social. I will be attending the social after the hike. I can take 3 passengers.

Distance: ≈14.5 return
Elevation gain: ≈700 m
Trail: mainly through forest; views above tree-line: out and back
Difficulty: OT3-4: Intermediate hikers
Pace: Slow’ish (2.4 kph average) ; not fast. Please don't sign up if you are expecting my usual quick pace, I am not conditioned due to an injury in the spring, Please plan on staying with the group.
Time: About 6 hours on the trail. (This doesn’t include driving time to the event and back).

From Calgary, drive on the TransCanada to the Highway 40 turn-off (Kananaskis). Drive on highway 40 past the Mount Lipsett Day Area to the Mt. Lipsett Trailhead parking area - about 80km. It’s on the left side of the highway if coming from the North.
Meeting time: @Trailhead: 9:45 am or @Brentwood Station: 8:00 am (Near the south stairs next to the CMG building. I’ll be in a blue Dodge minivan.
After Hike: I’m scheduling this so the hike will end around 4 pm, which will give you time to drive to and attend the Slow and Steady anniversary event at Opal picnic area.

Carpooling: You can use the comments section to arrange carpooling. I can take up to three passengers from the Brentwood Train Station.
Cost for carpooling: $20 per passenger plus extra towards the conservation pass if the driver doesn’t have one.
Suggested gear: hiking boots/shoes, pack, layers of clothing including wind and rain resistant layers; lunch, water, personal first aid kit; hiking poles, sunglasses, sunscreen, gloves, buff/hat, extra socks, picnic shoes and clothes, picnic food and drink.
Mandatory gear: bear spray.
