Some stories stay with you long after you close the book. Others make you want to grab a drink and talk about them with someone who gets it. Join us monthly to talk about it!

For this Slow Life gathering we’re meeting at Uptown Grill for a relaxed book club night.
No assigned reading. Just bring whatever you're currently reading (or recently finished) and tell us about it.

We tend to gravitate toward sci-fi, fantasy, romantasy*, speculative fiction, magical realism, mythic retellings, mysteries, and cozy fantasy, but if a book has you thinking about it days later, it’s fair game. *PLEASE no horror, no domestic violence, if the book has a trigger warning list it's probably not a good fit for this space.

This is more conversation than discussion group. Tell us what you're reading, what emotions it stirred up, or any strange parallels you noticed between the story and your own life.
Sometimes the best part of reading is realizing how differently the same story lands for everyone.

## Movie Night: Fried Green Tomatoes

For our next Slow Life outing, we’re heading to the movies to watch the classic Fried Green Tomatoes together.

If you’ve never seen it, you’re in for a treat. If you have, you already know why it holds up: southern gothic charm, small-town rebellion, and one of the most famously queer-coded relationships ever to make it into a mainstream 90s film.
Idgie and Ruth’s story has been quietly resonating with audiences for decades — sometimes tender, sometimes hilarious, sometimes a little chaotic. And of course it gave us one of the most satisfying rallying cries in cinema:

> “Towanda!”

We’ll meet up at Regal Martin Village for the 6:30 PM showing and grab seats together before the movie starts.

Afterward, anyone who wants can continue the Slow Life tradition of good conversation — whether that’s debating the film, talking books, or finding a nearby drink.
