What we’re about

Hello there,

this group is for all the people who enjoy a relaxed pace which enables them to cherish and explore the details of nature and monuments and what the surrounding has to offer. It's about experiencing the small things and being in the moment, halting, breathing the air, replenishing, getting inspired.
The journey is the reward.
The goal is to actually stay outside as much as possible and to not get back earlier than necessary ;-)

It is not about getting to the ending point in the shortest amount of time. There will be no haste, no sports, no hectic, no competition, no counting of kilometers and no running for catching a train earlier or such.
It won't necessarily serve rushed entertainment sightseeing purposes.

The average walking speed will be about 2.5 - 3.5 km / h. The overall event speed (including pauses) will be about 2.0 - 3.0 km/h. The distances vary between 14 - 22 km, hence a solid level of fitness is required. Beginners are welcome.
Hikes are usually devised for an entire day.

Please bring your own equipment and wear appropriate cloths and shoes depending on the weather and your personal needs.
Hikes will take place no matter the weather.

We will make a break each hour. Lunch break will take one hour. Please bring enough food and drinks for yourself to sustain the whole day.
A blanket or an isolating pad would be good to bring for those breaks because a hut/bench/trunk cannot always be found.

If there are cafes or restaurants on the way, we can gladly have a nice break there :-) If we have a scheduled lunch in a restaurant, I will put it into the event description.
We are also free to stop by at handicraft studios, markets, beekeepers, fruit & veggi & honey stands,..... which happen to cross our way :-P

Please have respect, social manners, relaxed thoughts and lots of good mood in your bag ;-) :-)
I don't want any kind of discrimination.

If you want to bring a trained and friendly dog - that's fine :-) Please send me a note in advance and post a comment into the event description, in case someone would be afraid of dogs.

Please have your messaging functionality turned on within Meetup in case I need to pass on a message or ask you something.

RSVP/no show policy: (updated 07.08.2021)
Please only sign up if you really want to come. It is very disrespectful to grab a spot when someone else really wanted to attend. The group size cannot be indefinite as it becomes unmanageable then. I invest a lot of time and even money into this group.

Please adjust your attendance at least 24 hours before the start of the event to give someone else the chance to properly prepare and participate.

If you reserved a spot and did not show up at all to the event, you will be removed from the group.
If you reserved a spot and canceled less than 24 hours before the start of the event two times in a row, you will be removed from the group.

If you are automatically put onto the going list less than 24 hours before the start of an event because someone canceled his/her/their spot, these rules do not apply.

I am no professional guide and I do this in my free time. I am not a travel agency. I don't hike necessarily on signposted or paved trails and I haven't been necessarily in the area before. Despite meticulous planning it could happen that we run into a blocked path or dead end. So small detours, minor climbing or dirty shoes shouldn't scare you.

I don't assume any liability - everybody is participating on his/her/their own free will and at their own risk. I am not responsible for any loss, damage or injury. You are all responsible for yourself. By joining an event you acknowledge having read the entire event and group description, to behave accordingly and release the organiser of any liability.

Taking time for photos is welcomed. Please do not take photos of any participant or the organiser without their explicit consent though. Do not publish any photo of anyone anywhere without explicit consent. It is okay to post landscape/nature photos without people into the meetup event.

If you are interested in a particular area or have some nice ideas on where to go, feel free to contact me :-)

If you'd like to support me and my work and also to help cover the meetup subscription, I'll be happy and thankful if you wanna donate something. But I don't expect that at all! So please don't feel triggered and let's enjoy the tour together :-) That's the most important part. ^^

I speak English, German, and a little French.

Hope to see you on a wonderful tour soon :-)
