Ever feel like the world expects you to have an opinion on everything — from the latest political scandal to the newest viral campaign — all at once? Between 24/7 news cycles, social media threads, and advocacy debates, it’s easy to feel drained, guilty, and like you’re falling behind on issues that actually matter. Welcome to the anxiety Olympics of being “informed.”

In this session, we’ll dive into the pressures of staying politically and socially aware while navigating news fatigue, guilt for not knowing enough, and the FOMO of missing out on debates and campaigns. We’ll talk about the emotional toll of constantly feeling like you need to have a hot take, the burnout that comes with “always being on,” and how advocacy culture can make you feel responsible for all the things all of the time.

Through discussion, reflection, and playful exercises, we’ll explore ways to engage intentionally with politics and society without sacrificing your mental health. You’ll leave with tools to set boundaries, reclaim your brainspace, and participate in advocacy in ways that are informed, intentional, and sustainable — without spiraling into guilt for not knowing every single thing.

This is for you if:

  • You care about politics, social issues, or advocacy but feel overwhelmed by the constant updates.
  • You feel guilty for missing the latest debate, news cycle, or viral campaign.
  • You want to stay engaged and informed without burning out.

Who Am I?
Hi, I’m Jesse, a communications and advocacy professional passionate about building a safer, more just world. Originally from Austin and now living in Italy, I believe life is measured by the quality of our connections, and I’m excited to use this space to help people build community through openness and shared stories.

How Does it Work?
This is an open, guided discussion led by your Keeper, Jesse. Each participant will have the opportunity to listen to and share experiences on anxiety, well-being, emotions, and whatever else comes up during the session.

When and How Do We Meet?
We meet digitally every couple of weeks to make participation easy for those with demanding schedules. Cameras are optional, and you’re welcome to join from wherever you are, even between shifts. We only ask that you find a private place to join or use headphones to help maintain the security of everyone present.
