Battling Brain Rot

A session on reclaiming your attention in an overwhelmed world.
Somewhere along the way, our brains got… tired.
Too many tabs open. Too many notifications. Too many headlines. Too many “you should care about this” posts. Too many 30-second videos we didn’t even mean to watch.
We scroll to relax and somehow end up more wired. We try to focus and our brain feels like static. We care about everything and nothing at the same time. And then we blame ourselves for not being productive, informed, or “disciplined” enough.
Welcome to modern life.
This session is for anyone who feels mentally cluttered, chronically distracted, doom scroll-prone, or overwhelmed by the internet, the news cycle, and the pressure to keep up with everything all the time.
Not because you’re lazy.
Not because your attention span is broken.
But because your nervous system is overloaded.
Together, we’ll talk honestly about what “brain rot” really is — the emotional and cognitive fatigue that comes from constant input, comparison, and urgency.
We’ll explore how information overload, productivity culture, and endless scrolling impact our focus, mood, and sense of self and how to gently reclaim our attention without shame or extreme digital detox rules.
Through reflection and conversation, we’ll explore questions like:
- When did my brain start feeling this crowded?
- What am I actually looking for when I scroll?
- What would “enough information” look like for me?
- What helps me feel mentally clear or present again?
This isn’t about throwing your phone away or becoming perfectly mindful. It’s about building a kinder relationship with your attention and creating small pockets of quiet in a very loud world.
This session is for you if:
- You feel chronically distracted or mentally foggy
- You doom scroll even when you don’t want to
- You feel guilty for not being “informed enough” or “productive enough”
- You miss how your brain used to feel slower, clearer, or more present
- You want gentler ways to reset your attention without shame
Come tired. Come distracted. Come mid-scroll. Your brain doesn’t need fixing, it probably just needs a break.
How Does it Work?
This is an open, guided discussion led by your Keeper, Jesse. Each participant will have the opportunity to listen to and share experiences on anxiety, well-being, emotions, and whatever else comes up during the session.
When and How Do We Meet?
We meet digitally every couple of weeks to make participation easy for those with demanding schedules. Cameras are optional, and you’re welcome to join from wherever you are, even between shifts. We only ask that you find a private place to join or use headphones to help maintain the security of everyone present.
Who Am I?
