What parts of living with narcolepsy go unseen, even by the people around you?
From the outside, narcolepsy can be easy to misunderstand. People might notice when you’re tired, or when something more visible happens, but a lot of the experience doesn’t translate. The constant negotiation with energy, the mental fog that’s hard to explain, the way you learn to read your body and adjust in real time. It can become second nature, even while it quietly shapes how you move through the world.
Many of us get used to smoothing things over. Saying we’re just tired. Laughing it off. Pushing through when we probably shouldn’t. If you’ve spent any time around others with narcolepsy, you’ve probably seen how often the same patterns come up, even if they look a little different for each person.
In this Session, we’ll make space for what tends to stay under the surface. What feels hardest to explain? What do you find yourself hiding, downplaying, or translating for other people? What would it be like to not have to do that here?
You don’t need to package your experience or make it make sense. You’re invited to speak from wherever you are with it, or simply listen and recognize yourself in someone else’s story.
Who Am I?
Hi, I'm Gianni. I’m an actor based in Los Angeles working across screen and stage. My background in the performing arts has shaped my interest in storytelling and the ways people make meaning of their experiences. Living with narcolepsy and ADD has also deepened my perspective on self-compassion and personal growth. Outside of acting, I enjoy cooking with my wife, playing trading card games, watching films, and singing.
How Does it Work?
This is an open, guided discussion led by your Keeper, Gianni. Each participant will have the opportunity to listen to and share experiences on anxiety, well-being, emotions, and whatever else comes up during the session.
When and How Do We Meet?
We meet digitally to make participation easy for those with demanding schedules. Cameras are optional, and you’re welcome to join from wherever you are, even between shifts. We only ask that you find a private place to join or use headphones to help maintain the security of everyone present.
