About us
The OC Mingle Project group provides unique spaces where civil dialogue thrives and neighbors connect without the static of social media. In a time when division dominates the headlines, there’s a loneliness epidemic, and algorithms dominate our media, we believe listening to each other and learning about our differences can restore civility, broaden minds & improve mental health. No judgment, no arguments, no labels—just people who want thoughtful conversation, learn something new, and mingle with others different from us.
If you feel politically stuck in the middle between clowns to the left and jokers to the right, you’ve found the perfect group to join! Inspired by Michael Smerconish’s The Mingle Project, we aim to bring together independent thinkers, concerned citizens, and open minds. If you value respectful dialogue and want to build bridges instead of walls, come take a seat at the table. Everyone’s welcome—just bring your curiosity and civility.
Based on group interests, events can vary from trivia nights, community events, game nights, happy hours, sight-seeing, and many other ways to mingle and build community.
Our Group Fundamentals:
-Have respectful intelligent conversation.
-Break away from our screens. Get off the phone.
-Encourage a variety of ways to get out of our comfort zones
-Angry is over, Laughter is in
-Learn and share about our differences
-Change the channel - Get out of our own echo chambers
-Two things can be true at once
-Look for independent news sources. (Subscribe to Michael's daily curation of news from a variety of sources https://www.smerconish.com/headlines/ )
-Be a service warrior
