About us
If you feel politically stuck in the middle between clowns to the left and jokers to the right, you’ve found the perfect Meetup group to join! Inspired by Michael Smerconish’s The Mingle Project, this Northern Michigan group will meet to discuss hot topics and news events with people from different backgrounds and points of view.
If you’re an independent thinker and want to join a conversation with people of diverse views, then you’ve found the right place. No pressure! We welcome ALL views ... and heck, on occasion we might not even want to talk politics! Imagine that. Try us out!

Traverse City Mingle Meetup - June!
Minerva's Restaurant & Bar, 300 East State St, Traverse City, MI, USOur June Mingle Meetup is now set for 6 p.m. Thursday, June 18 ... again at Minerva's Restaurant and Bar in the Park Place Hotel in Traverse City.
Mike is rounding up the topics for the evening, and he will share those soon. If you have a favorite, please let him know.
We had a great session in May on Artificial Intelligence with lots of excellent discussion. Definitely a story that will evolve for months if not years.
Reserve your spot now!
Each week, our goals for the group are:
- To build community, providing a venue for dialogue on national, state, and local issues.
- To be civil in our discussions. Let’s all tone it down a notch.
- To explore what we have in common more than what separates us.

Remember ... we invite folks with all views -- right, left, and in between -- and all ages.
Please RSVP so we have an accurate headcount. That way, the Minerva's staff can be prepared. The food and service
are excellent. Parking is plentiful in the Park Place lot and free.By the way, the Park Place Hotel has a long history in Traverse City. It traces its origins to the Campbell House, a three-story wooden-bracketed Italianate structure built in 1873 by proprietor Henry D. Campbell.
Hope to see you there!
