March Mingle Meetup - Traverse City!
Details
Our March Mingle Meetup is now set for 6 p.m. Thursday, March 19 ... this time at Minerva's Restaurant and Bar in the Park Place Hotel in Traverse City.
We've at last found a meeting space with both great food and quiet surroundings. We'll be away from the main part of the restaurant in our own space. The folks at Minerva's are excited to host us.
Reserve your spot now!
Our goals for the group:
- To build community, providing a venue for dialogue on national, state, and local issues.
- To be civil in our discussions. Let’s all tone it down a notch.
- To explore what we have in common more than what separates us.
Obviously, there's a lot going on in politics across the globe these days, especially with the news involving Iran. This will be an excellent time to discuss the latest events.
We were very pleased with the spirited discussion at the last get-together. We're looking forward to keeping it going.

Remember ... we invite folks with all views -- right, left, and in between -- and all ages.
Each month's meeting includes discussion of:
- A Mingle topic. Such as, what are our shared goals as citizens? What are the best ways to disagree respectively? These topics help us all improve out ability to discuss issues productively.
- Current-events topics: Mike will provide two or three topics from the news. He wants your help in selecting these, so please pass along your suggestions! Again, a topic can be national, state, or local in scope.
- What’s on your mind? We’ll then close each evening by asking you to share what’s most on your mind about current politics and why.
We will let you know before each meeting what the discussion questions will be.
Please RSVP so we have an accurate headcount. That way, the Minerva's staff can be prepared. The food and service are excellent. Parking is plentiful in the Park Place lot and free.
By the way, the Park Place Hotel has a long history in Traverse City. It traces its origins to the Campbell House, a three-story wooden-bracketed Italianate structure built in 1873 by proprietor Henry D. Campbell.
Hope to see you there!
