April Mingle Meetup - Traverse City!
Details
Our April Mingle Meetup is now set for 6 p.m. Thursday, April 16 ... again at Minerva's Restaurant and Bar in the Park Place Hotel in Traverse City.
This will be an exciting and informative meeting. Northern Michigan is, arguably, behind the times in passing along tourism-related infrastructure and other costs - like police, fire, roads and parks - to the out-of-towners who visit our beautiful towns, lakes, and trails.
Andrea Stalf, a Mingle group member, will speak about the need for a proposed 6% hotel tax in Grand Traverse County. The tax would send half of the proceeds to Traverse City Tourism and half to the county for tourism-related expenses.
This topic will be our main focus, but there will be second topic - to be announced - and plenty of opportunities to mingle before and after.
Reserve your spot now!
Each week, our goals for the group:
- To build community, providing a venue for dialogue on national, state, and local issues.
- To be civil in our discussions. Let’s all tone it down a notch.
- To explore what we have in common more than what separates us.

Remember ... we invite folks with all views -- right, left, and in between -- and all ages.
Please RSVP so we have an accurate headcount. That way, the Minerva's staff can be prepared. The food and service are excellent. Parking is plentiful in the Park Place lot and free.
By the way, the Park Place Hotel has a long history in Traverse City. It traces its origins to the Campbell House, a three-story wooden-bracketed Italianate structure built in 1873 by proprietor Henry D. Campbell.
Hope to see you there!
