If you want to become and stay agile, you have to pay attention to the technical practices. At Oslo XP meetup, we have focused on the technical practices. After a long break, we are starting up the meetup again!
The next meetup will be a double-feature: First, Venkat Subramaniam will show us how technical practices help us become and stay agile. Second, Stian Conradsen and Vidar Moe will show how SpareBank 1 used agile techniques, continuous deployment and microservices to transform the way the bank deliver software solutions to their netbank customers.
Technical Practices for Sustainable Agile Development - Venkat Subramaniam
Many organizations either claim to be agile or deeply desire to be agile. However, to be able to adopt agile development, to sustain the development pace, and to succeed with it, they need to embrace a set of technical practices. In this presentation, we will discuss the what, why, and how of essential technical practices that promote sustainable agile development.
Venkat Subramaniam is a world-famous speaker and the author of Practices of an Agile Developer. He is a super-engaging and hands-on speaker who always helps me see things clearer.
Breaking the monolith at SpareBank 1 - Stian Conradsen and Vidar Moe (talk in Norwegian)
Over the last years, SpareBank 1 has been separating out independent, cooperating webapplications from a giant monolith containing all aspects related to their internet banking applications. The resulting architecture balances rapid delivery and autonomous services with a coherent and consistent user experience. The road to the solution has provided many lessons in architecture, development and operation of real world applications.
Stian and Vidar work as developer-architects at SpareBank 1.
