See Smith Mountain Lake State Park - the Jewel of the Blue Ridge Mountains! Park website is: https://tinyurl.com/yc4fz2n3. Trail featured is 5 km (3 miles) and has elevation gain from the shore to the ridge line (200 feet). Wear sturdy shoes and if needed bring walking sticks because the trails are rough gravel with tree roots and rocks.
Walk cost is $4 to defray admin expenses and fund AVA walk credit (correct change appreciated). Those willing to accept the Ten Walk Challenge will get a free new Walkers Kit, value $21! The Kit has coupons for two Free Walks!! Ask about it!
Dogs and children are welcome but children under 18 must have a guardian present. Pay park entrance fee of $7 at gate entrance building or the Visitor's Center, then drive to the Discovery Center, which is at the end of Interpretive Trail Road.. Look for Debi standing or sitting at a picnic table on the left side of the Discovery Center. Afterwards we will have a drink or lunch at Alessandro's Pizza and Grill on White House Road.
