2022 Christmas Party for Camp Pendleton Marines & Families

Details

Please see the IMPORTANT note at the end of these details.

Many of you know that over the last several years our group has supported the Mariners Church Military Ministry that adopted the "Dark Horse" 3/5 Battalion comprised of over 1,000 Marines and sailors garrisoned at Camp Pendleton.

This "Military Ministry" supports the well-being of the Marines and families of this Battalion. While this ministry is covered by Mariners Church, there is a primary purpose: To provide as much relief for those that stand the front lines to protect us. All that we do is work to give these soldiers and families an example of support they rarely receive from the public they defend. These events are staffed by volunteers of all religious faiths and/or NO religious faith, they are attended by the same.

We have been told by the commanders at Camp Pendleton that these events have a significant positive impact on these Marines, Sailors and their families, and they look forward to these very special occasions as they offer some relief from the difficult training and dangerous deployments they face on a daily basis.

The preparation for these events takes months of planning by a dedicated core team. Obtaining donations, prizes, food, games, etc.

The annual Christmas party for these Marines will be held this year on Saturday December 17, 2022. Event is held in the Irvine Mariners Church Community Center.

Attendance will be approximately 1600 Marines, families and children. And approximately 200 volunteers.

We need a team of 4-6 photographers to roam the event and shoot the FUN candid photos of the festivities that will take place. These shots will be posted online so relatives will be able to view and download pictures of their families.

***VIDEO: Also looking for short videos of planned events and some interviews of attendees - should be way fun. Please let me know if you are able to shoot some video.

If you are looking for "pro experience" shooting a large organized group, this is a great opportunity. (Need NOT be a pro to shoot this)

Also, it goes without saying that this is an opportunity to give back and assist these soldiers that silently give so much to us. I can vouch that it is a very rewarding activity, both personally and photographically.

PS: Please only RSVP if you will attend. If then you find you are unexpectedly unable, CANCEL your RSVP so any on the wait list can fill the spot. Also be prepared to process for upload within about 10 days after the event.

IMPORTANT: All leaders and volunteers are required to register as a volunteer for the event for security purposes. Once you RSVP, i will send you a link and instructions to register online with the Church. Easy to do, and is required.

Thank You!
