Welcome to The Phoenix Las Vegas, a sober active community that fuels resilience and harnesses the transformational power of connection so that together we can rise, recover, and live. We use MeetUp as a means to share all of The Phoenix's FREE, sober events happening throughout Las Vegas. Please register for all events online at https://thephoenix.org or through The Phoenix mobile app. The Phoenix mobile app is also the best way to connect with event leaders. Ruck/Walk
Peccole Ranch Community Association, 9501 Red Hills Road, Las Vegas, NV, USAbout the event:
Let's get together for a ruck/walk around the shaded Peccole Ranch greenbelt trails!Rucking is walking with a weighted backpack or rucksack and is an effective, beginner-friendly, low-impact way to build strength, improve endurance, and boost overall fitness. You are welcome to ruck with a weighted pack or vest, or simply walk without a pack, either way is okay!
The route will be about 2-3 miles on a paved, flat, mostly shaded trail. Dogs are welcome!
What to bring?
Weighted backpack, rucksack, or vest (optional). A good starting point for beginners is about 10% of body weight, but less is okay! Household items such as water bottles, books, or small dumbbells can be used to add weight. Bring comfortable shoes and water.Special Instructions:

Refuge Recovery

Refuge Recovery is a Buddhist-oriented, non-theistic recovery program that does not ask anyone to believe anything, only to trust the process and do the hard work of recovery. Every meeting we have a reading, a meditation, and sharing. All are welcome, no matter your background, no matter what you're recovering from.What to bring?

Alcoholics Anonymous

The No Matter What Club of greater Las Vegas hosts an Alcoholics Anonymous AA meeting at The Phoenix Community Center every Sunday afternoon at 3:00 PM. Every week, we do a study discussion from AA literature like the Big Book, 12 & 12, Grapevine, Daily Reflections, or As Bill Sees It.
