Sober and Sober Curious in Asheville

For those of you who have been with us through the reboot of Sober and Sober Curious AVL, you are aware of the ebb and flow of this group! Life happens ! and that’s the case for all three of your co-organizers since summer ‘24 took off.
What we know is that many hands make lighter work, so if you have wanted more events or a chance to try your hand at planning something, your time has arrived!
Lisa and Becky will be remaining as co-organizers, and as happy as we are for Stephanie, (we are a little sad for us) we must wish her a fine farewell as she embarks on a new adventure taking her away from Asheville this Fall!
We will be getting a few things posted this week and hope you will join us to plan for the group going forward.
We know we need at least 3 co-organizers to keep going, so if you are game to step into this larger role, let us know!

In addition to a co-organizer, we are also very interested in having some event hosts join us. These are folks who post or direct message us a great idea (a good description of event, date and time are needed in the message), that you will then commit to attend. The co-organizers will make you the host for that event (or series of events) on Meetup and you are on! Event hosts are responsible for planning, writing up the description, and providing any updates to the event.

We hope a few of you hear this call and will let us know you are ready to help provide more opportunities for us to gather and make connections!
This “virtual” event will remain up until 7/31 for you to “attend” so you can join the focused Discussion! Please let us know ideas for events and your level of interest in planning there, or leave public info in the group discussion.

As a reminder- this group is open to everyone - no matter where you are in your sober journey or are considering one. We gather to socialize and have fun together without the alcohol and other drugs, but we are not holding AA or NA meetings.
We ask that you attend all events without imbibing.
