Singing Medicine

Singing Medicine

Details

Hi

This is part of The Five Lamps Arts Festival - www.fivelampsarts.ie

I will actually be away on Saturday but thought this workshop might be of interest to some of you.

Send me a message if you'd like to be event host for one of the sessions.

Saturday 20th April 2pm, 3pm & 4pm ( each session lasts 30 mins)

In Georgia people used to believe that when a baby was sick, sending him to
the doctor just wasn't the thing to do. To cure a sick baby, one only
needed to sing to him one of the many healing songs (Batonebo) from the
Georgian Folk repertoire.

To pay homage to this tradition, and for the second year now, Zurmukhti
Georgian Ensemble would like to give the opportunity to anyone who might
need a bit of a boost during their day to sit in the middle of our circle
of healing songs and be refreshed as we sing around them and to them.

Side-effects: in some cases, people have been known to develop a smile
after prolonged exposure to the medicine. Come and try!
