El Moro Canyon Loop Trail
Crystal Cove State Park, 8471 North Pacific Coast HWY, Laguna Beach, CA, USAn all time SoCal favorite hike : El Moro Canyon Loop Trail in Crystal Cove State Park, in Laguna Beach.
This trail has great views of the beachside and is considered moderately challenging, with 800 feet of elevation gain and a 5 mile total distance (loop). This hike should take around 3 hours to complete.
The trail begins and ends at the El Moro Visitor Center just north of the Crystal Cove State Park Campground. There is a parking fee here. This loop provides visitors with a tour of the El Moro Canyon, then climbs over 800 feet in elevation to the ridgeline, where some of the best coastline views in the park can be seen. It is steep for the first couple of miles if you go clockwise, but then easier after that. Plus, going in that direction you get great views of the ocean. This is a multi-use trail used by hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders, so we'll be sure to stay alert & safe on the trail.
Also will be starting slightly earlier due to the heat - Please arrive by 7:45 am; we will be starting at 8:00 am sharp!
Please bring anything you might need for the hike - including water, comfortable hiking shoes, a hat, sunblock, snack, etc. Note that there is very little shade on this trail.
