San Diego Bronies train to hike to Goat Canyon Trestle - 9
Details
The ultimate goal of these hikes are to complete a 6 to 14 mile hike to the historic Goat Canyon Trestle ( Topography map (https://prd-tnm.s3.amazonaws.com/StagedProducts/Maps/USTopo/1/22304/7538752.pdf) ), which is the world's largest wooden trestle, located in East San Diego county. We hope to do this hike in March 2018, as too soon and it will be wet, and too late it will be too hot. However, one does not complete such a task without conditioning and training. Therefore, this will be the first hike to train for the culminating hike.
Weather permitting, the ninth of these hikes will be along the bay, where we will go from the Southwest end of Shelter Island to the fishing pier at Embarcadero Marina Park South and return back to Shelter Island ( Map Route (https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Pacific+Rim+Park+(Pearl+Of+The+Pacific)/Burgers,+Bait+%26+Beer/Santa+Fe+Depot/Pacific+Rim+Park+(Pearl+Of+The+Pacific),+Shelter+Island+Drive,+San+Diego,+CA/@32.7238655,-117.2284047,562m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m56!4m55!1m30!1m1!1s0x80deab9028eeb1e9:0x9b906d5ec960398!2m2!1d-117.2346595!2d32.7082301!3m4!1m2!1d-117.2102897!2d32.728411!3s0x80deab13a2f19fb5:0x32ad11bb26296d10!3m4!1m2!1d-117.1765655!2d32.7142058!3s0x80deab54fbee3f81:0xe76521dcf2fbfdb7!3m4!1m2!1d-117.1751917!2d32.7125965!3s0x80deab5543fe6941:0x8e8ce116ce93d1b8!3m4!1m2!1d-117.1674561!2d32.705906!3s0x80d95353d8efce51:0x48561f44d335026d!3m4!1m2!1d-117.1662172!2d32.7049214!3s0x80d95351c63fc1e1:0xe258a7f9cff0a874!1m5!1m1!1s0x0:0x43915a164fbaf48e!2m2!1d-117.1645787!2d32.7035058!1m10!1m1!1s0x80deab355386aaab:0x98e321e1679bd391!2m2!1d-117.1695765!2d32.7167185!3m4!1m2!1d-117.199837!2d32.7287934!3s0x80deab13a2f19fb5:0x32ad11bb26296d11!1m5!1m1!1s0x80deab9028eeb1e9:0x9b906d5ec960398!2m2!1d-117.2346595!2d32.7082301!3e2) ).
