On May 14th 2021, veteran animator Shawn Keller uploaded a fun send-up of My Little Pony titled "Guardians Of Pondonia" to his YouTube account. At that time, his most-viewed video (his oldest one) had 12,000+ views and had been online for six years.

"Guardians Of Pondonia" shot past 12,000 views in less than three days!

Almost overnight, Shawn's creation, with it's screwball sense of humor, became a sensation within the brony community. On May 16th 2021, Shawn named the main (mane?) character Athena. And a new fan-favorite OC was born.
