As we officially step into 2026 in the lunar calendar, the year of the horse has trully begins! Based on Chinese tradition, the Spring Festival is the most important holiday in the culture, just like Christmas in Western cultures. Chinese people usually gather with their families on Spring Festival's Eve and have the biggest and best meal they can have in the whole year. People also set off fireworks and firecrackers, and put red symbols on their doors and windows to scare off evil spirits and pray for good luck. For someone who is far away from his family. I'm used to spending this holiday on my own. But this year will be different for a super brony. So let's cherish this time as we walk into the year of the horse in the traditional way.
We are going to have a hotpot buffet in the San Gabriel area around Los Angeles. The restaurant has been visited frequently by me and some other members of our group as well. Price is 30-50/person depends on the meal combo you get. Parking on the spot will be a bit tricky at dinner time, but the nearby residential street will be available for parking.
Red is the color theme for the Spring Festival. Wear red or other Chinese traditon out fit will be preferred. Including Chinese culture influenced ponies like Antum Blaze or Mistmane. A bonfire party after dinner at my place might be available for those who are looking for more fun to have. Let's have a expriance during this very special lunar new year!
