Happy Hour Climbing @ Stronghold DTLA

Stronghold Climbing Gym

Join us for an awesome night of fun! We have a Facebook chat! https://m.me/join/AbY6Yv7-ceyi69Ba We'll be doing routes of all skill levels, even if you've never climbed before feel free to use this as an excuse to start being a little bit more awesome! That said we will try to match people who are similar in climbing skill unless otherwise requested. The plan is to meet up at the gym at 7:30, though you're welcome to come later if that works better for you, the meetup will likely be around until 10-10:30 or so. I'm usually wearing a red harness and leggings. I also write my name and what I'm wearing up on the board that's next to the water fountain, between the bathrooms. You can also ask the front desk if you can't find me anywhere. Entry is $25 Rental Gear bundle is $5 Parking can be tricky sometimes, if the main lot along Ave 21 is full there is also parking on the street on Main. I'm not sure if we're allowed to park in the little plaza on Main/Daly so be careful Knowing how to belay is strongly recommended but not required, however you will be put into a group instead of a pair if you are unable to belay others. (size of group(s) depends on amount of people) If you've never climbed before we can teach you how to make a climbing knot, but for belaying we strongly recommend taking the class. Stronghold offers an easy belay class which includes rental on Wednesdays at 6:30, it's normally $35. You're more than welcome to take the class then join us when you're done (class takes about an hour and a half to two hours usually). There's also usually a groupon that usually makes the class a bit more affordable: http://www.groupon.com/deals/the-stronghold-climbing-gym Most importantly remember to stay safe and have fun! LIABILITY RELEASE Climbing is a deadly activity. Attendees are responsible for ensuring their own safety through their training, skills, and sound judgment. No one at this meetup is guaranteed to be certified, trained, or otherwise qualified to ensure your safety and you may get killed or seriously injured. Your attendance at this meetup signifies you agree to take responsibility for your own safety and to not hold this Meetup group, its organizers, its hosts, or its members liable for any injuries to your person or property that may occur even if it is their fault. If you want your safety guaranteed you'd need to hire a professionally certified and insured guide and not attend this meetup. CLIMBING IS DANGEROUS. CLIMB AT YOUR OWN RISK! Magnificent Monday Meetup @ Cliffs of Id

Cliffs of Id

Come meet new climbing buddies, push yourself to the next level, work on technique, or whatever helps you achieve your climbing goals. Meet us at the bottom of the stairs in the top rope area at 6:30PM, and find Alison by looking for the pink ribbon tied to the back of her pink harness. At about 6:45PM we'll do an ice-breaker, talk about our climbing goals for the day, and then pair off for climbing fun. This Meetup is every Monday and you do not have to RSVP on Meetup to attend. If our RSVP list is full, you can still join us: we love more climbers. Note to beginner and even intermediate-level climbers who might be nervous about attending: climbing is between you and the wall, not you and your belay partner. We promise that you aren't holding anyone back by attending and that no one will be judging you or your climbing. We're a friendly and supportive group, and we welcome climbers of all skill levels. Even if you've never belayed, that's okay, we'll teach you! If you have any ideas of the direction you'd like our Meetup to go (more partner-focused, more training-centric, more loose or more structured, etc), feel free to direct message me or let me know at the Meetup. LIABILITY You, and no one else, are 100% responsible for your safety at all times.
