You’ll get the tools and support you need to change your life for the better. In this weekly group, you’ll learn new skills that are specifically tailored to overcoming social anxiety and shyness. You’ll also get the support and understanding you need from others who really “get you,” because they’re also working through social anxiety.

Here's the basic info about this group: The fee for the group is $45 per weekly session, with a sliding scale fee available. This group is not a drop-in group, but rather requires a weekly commitment. An intake appointment with myself, Daniel Chazanas (http://www.danielchazanas.com/about/), is required before attendance. I also provide individual therapy for social anxiety and any other anxiety-related issues. I look forward to hearing from you :)

As someone who understands social anxiety and has successfully treated it, I know how painful it can be, and I am dedicated to helping you grow beyond it. By exploring what false beliefs may be operating behind-the-scenes – beliefs which often painfully limit people's capacity for connection, you too can develop fulfilling relationships. Within a supportive group environment, group members are encouraged to gradually meet their fears in a mindful, compassionate manner. Ultimately, participants feel more freedom to live in greater alignment with their core values, leading to a more fulfilling life experience.

The social anxiety therapy / support group utilizes a variety of approaches to help people cope with this often crippling mental health condition, and ultimately overcome it. Mindfulness practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Process-Orientation, and basic group support are some of the theoretical orientations that we utilize in creating an integrative therapy suited to the unique needs of each group participant. All groups are led by me, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Please note: I also offer individual therapy for social anxiety and shyness. In order to find out whether the social anxiety therapy group is a good match for your needs, an individual intake session with me is required. During this intake session, we may determine that the therapy group feels too overwhelming for you at this time. In that case, individual therapy might be a better place to start.
