About us
Welcome to our Social Impact Book Club in Perth Western Australia! We have such a thriving social impact community here in Perth, and we're hoping to build on that to have some fun and discuss interesting, thought-provoking texts on any topic related to social impact.
Whether you're passionate about making a difference or simply curious about the field, our book club aims to offer a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, share insights, and foster meaningful conversations.
Join us as we delve into inspiring texts and collectively strive to understand and contribute to positive social change.
This book club is organised by the Centre for Social Impact Alumni committee but studying social impact is absolutely not a prerequisite for joining.

Social Impact Book Club - July meeting
Moore and Moore Cafe, 46 Henry Street, Fremantle, AUWe’re excited to gather again this July for our Social Impact Book Club, this time over a relaxed lunch at Moore & Moore Café in Fremantle.
For this meetup, we’ll be reading The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer, a title that’s been on our list for a while after being suggested by one of our members. I’ve been especially looking forward to diving into this one with you all. As a shorter read, I think it is a good pick for our July gathering.
In The Serviceberry, Kimmerer explores themes of reciprocity, community, and generosity, drawing on both ecological knowledge and Indigenous wisdom. Using the serviceberry as a central metaphor, she invites us to reflect on alternative ways of relating to one another and the natural world, offering a hopeful vision grounded in shared abundance rather than scarcity.
Location: Moore & Moore Café, Fremantle
Time: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PMWhether you’ve read every page or are just curious about the themes, you’re warmly welcome to join us. Come along for thoughtful conversation, good food, and a shared exploration of ideas that matter.
As always, if you would like to come but there are no spots left, please PM me as the platform limits the amount of RSVPs to 10, but we can always accommodate more.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
