Speed Friending for International students
Calling all international students in Melbourne! Join us to take part in an evening of speed friending and meet new people. A chance to make real connections over shared experiences, interests and lots of conversations! Whether you have just arrived or have been studying for a while, this event is for anyone looking to expand their friend circle and make meaningful connections.
Across a series of short, friendly conversations, you’ll connect with other students from around the world, share stories, swap tips about life in Melbourne, and discover people you genuinely click with. No pressure, no awkwardness — just an easy way to meet others who are also looking to expand their social circle.
Whether you’ve just arrived or you’ve been here a while, this event gives you a warm space to:
- Make new friends quickly and comfortably
- Build confidence in social settings
- Connect with people who understand the international student experience
- Grow your support network in Melbourne
- Have fun in a low‑stress, inclusive environment
- Learn about the lifeline toolkit
We’ll guide the conversations, provide icebreakers, and make sure everyone feels welcome. Come on your own or bring a friend, you’ll leave with new connections and a stronger sense of belonging.
Light catering and snacks provided!
Speed Friending for international students is supported by Lifeline and delivered in collaboration with Unwind Desi Minds, Social Threads and Shakti Mental Health.
