Our sister org -- Volunteer for Outdoor California, is holding its first camping volunteering this year at China Camp State Park, Marin, on the March 28-29 weekend.

V-O-CAL was founded in 2006, they have been doing camping volunteering for 20 years around bay. This season opens at China Camp State Park, basically you get free two nights' camping, free food for both Sat. and Sun while volunteering, repairing trails in the park.
China Camp state park gets its name from a historic Chinese American shrimp-fishing village there. It is located on the shore of San Pablo Bay, known for its hiking and mountain biking trails, scenic views, and open spaces.

Camp Schedule:
Friday
5:00pm - Check in and camping open. DINNER IS NOT PROVIDED.
Saturday
7:30am - Check in, light breakfast and lunch-packing begin ~ Please arrive by 7:45 AM
8:30 am – Morning greeting, announcements, stretching, safety talk and crew assignments
12:30pm - Break for lunch on trail
3:30 pm – Stop work and return to camp
4:00 pm – Drinks, appetizers and socializing. Showers available.
6:00 pm – Dinner and more socializing
Sunday
7:30am - Breakfast, lunch prep and registration ~ Please arrive by 7:45 AM. Hot breakfast is served.
8:30 am – Morning greeting, announcements, stretching, safety talk and crew assignments. Project beings.
11:30am - Break for lunch on trail.
1:30pm - Return to camp, load tools and gear on truck
You don't need to participate the whole weekend, you can pick the segments you want to volunteer in, and come at that time.
This is an info post. If we have strong demand, we may organize a trip up north. And you have to register with VOCAL to attend the event.
