Disclaimer: It's best to show up at the beginning of the meetup. If you show up later, you risk possibly not finding the group because of the large crowds (I will still post photos and GPS coordinates to try and assist). At the beginning of the meetup, we will meet outside the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory from 6:00 pm to 6:15 pm, then go to Brooklyn Bridge Park - Pier 1 and find a spot on the lawn. Pluto TV Movies With A View returns for free outdoor movies in July and August!
Celebrate the return of Pluto TV Movies with a View, with our first film of the season! This summer, we celebrate our 25th season of Brooklyn’s beloved free outdoor film series on Thursdays, July 10 – August 28 at Pier 1 Harbor View Lawn. This season, our films feature movies by and starring leading women with the theme of “Women In Hollywood”.
On July 31, join for The Matrix (R, 1999, 136 minutes). Directed by the Wachowski sisters, The Matrix redefined sci-fi and action cinema. Carrie-Anne Moss’s portrayal as Trinity remains a benchmark for female action roles. This mind-bending tale of simulated reality and rebellion still resonates and looks stunning under the stars. Winner of four Academy Awards including Best Film Editing, Best Sound, Best Sound Effects Editing, and Best Visual Effects.
The lawn opens at 6:00 PM on a first come, first serve basis, and the movie begins at sunset. All Movies With A View are free to attend.
Pre-show entertainment by JonnyGo Figure; DJs courtesy of Subatomic Sound. Guests are encouraged to bring their own picnic blankets, and kindly reminded that chairs and dogs are not permitted on the lawn, and glass bottles/containers and outside alcohol are never allowed in the Park. Guests may bring their own food, or purchase movie concessions on site. Water, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages (for those 21+) will be available for sale at our Bar by Fornino to be enjoyed on-site.
