The Redmond Socrates Cafe Meetup Group Monthly Meetup

Details
The idea behind the Socrates Café is that we learn more when we question and question with others. We meet in a public place, is open to anyone who wishes to attend, and uses (a friendly form of) the Socratic method to discuss philosophical questions people want to talk about.
This is based on a book by Christopher Phillips (http://www.amazon.com/Socrates-Cafe-Fresh-Taste-Philosophy/dp/039332298X), then a freelance writer, who wanted to bring philosophy back to ordinary people and teach them how to discuss big ideas without get angry or upset with those who disagree with you.
He began holding conversations with anyone and everyone who’d like to engage in a common quest to gain a better understanding of human nature - who shared with him the aspiration of becoming more empathetic people and more critical and creative philosophical inquirers. There are no prerequisites, and no reading or other preparation is required. You are invited.
