Wouldn't it be great if you could know when resources are over-provisioned or under-provisioned? Wouldn't it be great if your monitoring system called you before your customers? Wouldn't it be great if you knew exactly how many 400s per hour your web-site was producing? Wouldn't it be great if you could actually prove that that app you know is leaky, is leaky? We might not get to all that, but we will get to all this...
Objectives (what you'll do):
- Use exporters to publish metrics like processor, memory, storage and network use, availability and response time.
- Use Prometheus to collect those metrics into a TSDB (time-series database)
- Use Alertmanager to alert sysadmins to problems before customers and execs even notice them.
- Use Grafana to pull metrics from Prometheus and build a dashboard of a system or application's health.
Requirements (what you need to bring):
- A Web browser
- An SSH client
- Headphones or a headset
Class starts promptly at 9AM! Don't be late!
Price: 64 USD or PWYC
