Good Vibes Only: Crafting Reliable Software with Coding Agents
Moving from "vibe coding" to disciplined, test-driven workflows that make AI-generated code (actually) production-ready
Description
Coding agents became a daily tool faster than most teams figured out how to actually use them. Many organizations are pushing their engineers to use these tools without much training. A lot of us are still in "vibe coding" mode: prompt, hope, patch by hand. This talk is about moving past that.
We'll discuss principles like using feedback loops and other constraints to help keep agents on track and learn which tasks agents still aren't suited for. You'll leave with concrete examples, workflows you can borrow, and a model for fitting agents into your day without lowering the bar for quality.
We'll also leave plenty of time to discuss and share workflows. Come hang out!
About Camden
Camden is a software engineer at Jamf, where he works on test automation for Mac and iOS apps and also builds iOS apps on the side. He has a passion for building quality apps and figuring out how AI tooling can fit into (and help accelerate) the software development lifecycle.
Outside of work, Camden lives in Algonquin, IL with his wife and two young daughters. When he's not working on apps or being chased by toddlers, he enjoys plaing guitar in a local cover band.
