BASE Job Fair VI

We are having our sixth installment of the BASE Job Fair. These are home brew small informal job fairs without all the fuss of a large convention hall. We limit the amount of companies to 15 to keep the job fair small and intimate.
Engineers

Hiring principals often bring along engineers from the team to help spot qualified candidates so expect to be speaking with recruiters and engineers in most cases.
Employers

Employer Passes range from $400.00 to $[masked] depending on the size of the company and each come with a table, chairs, and the ability to post banners. Pricing is completely negotiable.

Banners, table cloths, and anything that can be given out is perfectly fine to bring to the fair as long as it doesn't damage the venue. WiFi will be available at the venue and plugs for monitors and computers.

Too crowded. I'm not so desperate as to try to fight the throngs. They always want an online application anyway. For an event to be useful there needs to be the opportunity to have a longer conversation with an employee with influence within the company, not just an HR rep.

I thought this was a great event in terms of having really interesting conversations with a couple of really smart people in the tech industry and taking the pulse of what the job market is like. In terms of helping employment I think the event was pretty much a wash for most people there, there was a pretty huge wave of job seekers, and maybe 3 or 4 companies that didn't want 5 year+ developers with professional experience in very specific back end languages, which describes very few of the job seekers there, or are likely to turn up in this format.
But I had some fascinating conversations with a couple of the reps there, so I'd recommend it on that basis.
